As part of the ‘Welcome to Poland – PULS space, your space’ programme, funded by the European Union, the Welcome Point team invites all international students to a special event – Polish Evening!

The event, aimed at our international community, is designed to introduce students to Polish history and culture in an accessible and engaging way. It is no coincidence that it will take place around the time of National Independence Day, providing an opportunity to learn about this important moment in our country’s history in a friendly, international atmosphere.
The programme includes a presentation exploring the historical circumstances surrounding Poland’s loss and subsequent regaining of independence, as well as the cultural traces of the period of partition that remain visible in Poland to this day. In addition, students will learn about the most famous Polish legends, both local and national – from the billy goats of Poznań to the Wawel Dragon.
The event will also feature a quiz on Poland, in which participants will be challenged with questions on Polish geography and popular culture. A small prize awaits the winner! Those who wish to do so will also be able to share their observations about Poland by answering the question in a live survey: ‘What has surprised you most about Poland?’.
Refreshments, including traditional Polish sweets and pastries, will also be available for participants.
We hope that the event will be warmly received and will serve as a wonderful prelude to our next gathering – a trip to the Poznań Saint Martin's Croissant Museum!

Social events form part of the PULS’ internationalisation strategy. They help to build relationships between Polish and international members of the academic community and make it easier for international students to settle into their new country by fostering an atmosphere of openness and belonging.
