Collaboration with Chaudhary Charan Singh University in India

07.07.2026

On Friday, July 3, Poznań University of Life Sciences hosted a delegation from Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) in Meerut, India. This was the first visit by representatives of that university to Poland, and it culminated in the signing of a cooperation agreement that paves the way for joint research, academic and international activities.

The initiator and coordinator of the collaboration between PULS and CCSU is prof. UPP Anshu Rastogi, Ph.D., the Rector’s representative for cooperation with universities in the Republic of India.

During the meeting, the partners discussed priority areas for research and academic cooperation. In the near future, they plan to organize joint seminars and conferences – both in-person and online – as well as guest lectures for doctoral students and the entire academic community, and to expand student and staff exchange programs. These efforts will also be supported by a grant application submitted by PULS in February 2026 to fund student and staff mobility under the Erasmus+ KA171 program, which is currently under review.

CCSU representatives expressed particular interest in collaborating with the following departments: Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering; Agriculture, Horticulture and Biotechnology; and Food Science and Nutrition.

The meeting was attended by the following representatives from the PULS:

  • prof. Karolina Pawlak – Vice-Rector for International Relations,
  • prof. Daniel Lipiński – Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Horticulture and Biotechnology,
  • prof. UPP Tomasz Garbowski – Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering,
  • dr Maciej Kuligowski – Vice-Dean for Studies at the Faculty of Food Sciences and Nutrition,
  • prof. UPP Anshu Rastogi – The Rector's Representative for Cooperation with Universities in the Republic of India.

The CCSU delegation was represented by:

  • prof. Sangeeta Shukla – Vice-Chancellor,
  • prof. Beer Pal Singh – Director, Research & Development,
  • prof. Jitender Singh – Deputy Director, Research & Development and International Cooperation.

After signing the agreement, prof. Sangeeta Shukla delivered a lecture titled: “Building Indo-Polish Collaborations for Sustainable Environment,” funded by the PREIDUB program. The event provided an opportunity to discuss the development of scientific cooperation between Polish and Indian universities, and joint efforts toward sustainable development.

During their stay in Poznań, the guests also familiarized themselves with the research infrastructure at the Poznań University of Life Sciences. They visited the Pilot Biotechnology

Station, the Biocenter, and the laboratories of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

The CCSU delegation’s visit also included a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of India in Warsaw, which took place the day before. Prof. Anshu Rastogi and representatives of the Indian university discussed opportunities for institutional support to foster bilateral academic cooperation between Poland and India.
