One Region, Wide Horizons: Culture Day

27.05.2026

On May 22, 2026, the scenic Dendrological Garden of Poznań University of Life Sciences hosted Culture Day, an initiative dedicated to building meaningful relationships and integrating Poznań's vibrant international academic community.

The event successfully brought together students, PhD candidates, and international research staff - along with their families - spanning several of the region's leading academic and research institutions:

  • Poznań University of Life Sciences,
  • Poznań University of Economics and Business,
  • Poznań University of Medical Sciences,
  • Poznań University of Technology,
  • Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBCH PAS).

The event was officially opened by distinguished guests who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of international cooperation. The opening addresses were delivered by:

  • Prof. Karolina Pawlak – PULS Vice-Rector for International Relations,
  • Ms. Anna Wawdysz – Deputy Director of the City Development and International Cooperation Department, and Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Poznań for Youth and Academic Cooperation,
  • Prof. Jean Diatta – PULS-ISA Leader.

Culture Day was organized under the framework of the project "One Region, Wide Horizons – Euraxess Wielkopolska”, which is generously funded by NAWA_EURAXESS. The core objective of this project is to actively support the integration of the local academic community and their families by initiating networking opportunities and fostering a truly global community right here in the Wielkopolska region.

The day was filled with fantastic energy, cultural exchange, and diverse attractions. A major highlight was the Talent Show, which featured an incredible performance by the PULS-ISA Musical Team. Attendees also enjoyed dynamic Aikido demonstrations, archery workshops and beautiful henna body art. To complete the festive experience, everyone could enjoy a popular photo booth to capture memories, alongside a wide selection of delicious international food that brought a taste of the world to the garden.
