PULS in the world top of agricultural sciences in GRAS 2025 ranking
The Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS) confirms its position as one of the best research institutions in Poland and worldwide. In the latest edition of the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS 2025), our university once again topped the global ratings of agricultural sciences, scoring in the first 100 worldwide in the discipline of Agricultural Sciences.
PULS was positioned in the 51–75 range, which is the highest spot among Polish universities with a life sciences profile and one of the best achievements of higher education institutions in Poland in this year's edition of the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy chart. The University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences also scored high positions in this discipline, and both are being ranked in the 76 - 100 range.
This year's GRAS ranking also recorded positive results for the Poznań University of Life Sciences in other areas. In the Veterinary Sciences category, the university was ranked between 201 and 300, while in the Food Science and Technology between 301 and 400. These scores prove the wide range of PULS scientific expertise and high-quality research in key areas of life sciences.
GRAS evaluates world universities across 57 subjects in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences and is based on nine objective indicators grouped into five categories: World-Class Faculty, World-Class Research Output, High-Quality Research, Research Impact, and International Collaboration.
Although Polish universities rarely make it into the top 500 of the overall ARWU ranking, the GRAS rating allows to identify so-called “islands of excellence,” i.e. areas of research where national centres achieve world-class standards. Agricultural sciences have been one such area for years, and this year's PULS result confirms the university's strong, well-established position in the global academic environment.
The high score achieved by the Poznań University of Life Sciences in GRAS 2025 proves that PULS remains a leader in modern, science-based agriculture, actively responding to global challenges related to food security, climate protection, and sustainable development.
